Individual Membership Renewal
Once a year, all Scouting America members, both youth and adults, must renew their membership. Beginning in 2024, the date of your renewal is the anniversary of your join date (if you first registered on or after August 1, 2023) or the date of your last renewal (part of your Pack/Troop/Crew/Ship renewal, most likely December 31). Prior to that date (see timeline below), you will receive email notification to renew yours and/or your children’s memberships online*. Prior to your anniversary date, please log in and pay your annual registration.

Scout Assistance (click for details)
We understand that different families have different needs, many of which are financial. It is important for us as an organization to do our best to help all youth. No Scout should be unable to participate in Scouting due to lack of funds. To help, we have developed a registration assistance program.
Any family with financial need that would prevent their child from taking part in the BSA is encouraged to apply. Support is granted according to need, so please compete the application in its entirety. All applications will be reviewed in a timely matter and approval is subject to availability of funds.
Unit Renewal
Unit Renewal is brand new for 2024. Unlike the previous annual “rechartering” process, Unit Renewal and Membership Renewal processes are completely separate and serve different purposes. Membership of youth and adults is now a handled on an individual twelve month cycle and no longer directly linked to a unit charter. Please review the information carefully and contact us if there are any questions.
